MAP's NEW client services area!
In the past, our pantries have lacked accessibility for all due to many stairs leading to service areas. Our new area will be accessible to all with a ramp entrance and a fresh new look! Additionally, we are excited to reveal expanded programming that we know our community needs. We've listened and are preparing to do wonderful things... but we need your help! If you'd like to help support our mission, please consider shopping our Amazon Wishlist!
Stay tuned for details regarding our open house (coming soon)!

Mission for Area People Announces New Executive Director Kristen Turgeon
The Mission for Area People Board of Directors is pleased to announce Kristen Turgeon as the new Executive Director for Mission for Area People (MAP).
Ms. Turgeon's background in professional management and six years of experience at the agency, combined with her deep passion for promoting the mission of the agency and serving community families in need made her uniquely qualified for the Executive Director position. Her leadership will advance the mission of the agency which will, in a few years, celebrate its 60th anniversary as one of the significant social service agencies in Muskegon County.
In addition to her position as MAP Director of Program and Operations, Turgeon held other positions in Muskegon County such as Community Health Worker under The Health Project. She has a degree in Science and Healthcare Administration from Herzing University and studied business at Baker College of Muskegon. Turgeon will oversee all operations and activities of Mission for Are People effective January 1, 2024.
I, and the staff at MAP, truly love our community. It’s important to listen to the needs of our community, find solutions to meet the needs and serve those facing trying circumstances with good intention. Here at MAP, we serve because it is our duty far beyond our job.
